I have had a meditation practice since 2010. It was during my Yoga teacher training that I began to explore the philosophy and neuroscience of this practice. I regularly attended lunchtime meditation classes while working in Manchester at the Kadampa Buddist Meditation centre. Which proved to be a very effective way of spending lunchtime on a very stressful job!
I studied meditation during my Yoga teacher training diploma and teach meditation both in yoga classes and as a standalone practice. The essence of Yoga practice is to develop a steady mind. It is through the practice of Yoga postures and breathing exercise (Asana and Pranayama) that we prepare the body and mind for meditation.
In March 2021, I completed a further 100 hours of study with Yogacampus (with Graham Burns and Isabell Britsch) to become a certified meditation teacher.
