This is a free men’s Yoga class at The Yoga Space in Warrington and is a community-based initiative to support men’s mental well-being. To provide the opportunity for men, whether they practice Yoga or not to learn the foundations of asana (movement), meditation, and pranayama (breathwork).
Practice and experience the benefits of these ancient and modern practices and implement them into your daily routine. Learn how Yoga supports you to manage stress and anxiety, get better sleep and develop better physical and mental health. Which leads to greater vitality and longevity in your life.
There is still a stigma attached to Yoga for some men, that it is something that only women do, and the idea of stepping into a ‘woman’s space’ such as a Yoga studio is uncomfortable. Even though it was developed and practiced almost exclusively by men in India for over 5,000 years, up until the early 20th century when it was exported to the West.
Men too, are often reluctant to seek help or support for their mental well-being. This can lead to spiraling issues, with the potential for devastating consequences. With this in mind, I have partnered with Yoga Space to create a men’s Yoga hub to support men’s physical and mental health.
There is also a lot of value in connection and community. When men come together and show up for themselves, they are also supporting each other through the sharing of these practices.
Yoga is for everybody and everybody should be able to experience the benefits that this practice has on our overall physical and mental well-being. So if you’re curious about the benefits of Yoga and you’ve yet to try, or you’re practicing already and want more of a man’s perspective on Yoga, join me monthly at Yogaspace, Warrington.
