Conscious Connected Breathwork
This simple technique involves breathing in and out through the mouth without pause. When we breathe in this way, it activates the stress response of the nervous system. We activate this response to initiate tension and emotional release from the body. It can initiate big emotional and energetic shifts in body and mind.
If you are new to breathwork, I will guide you into feeling your way into the practice. Similarly, if you’re an experienced breather you have the space to fully feel into the breath and safely find your edge. Come and join this brand new conscious connected breath workshop at Peppermint Hot Yoga and feel the benefits of this powerful practice for yourself.
It is a powerful yet gentle practice that can illicit positive shifts in our physical, energetic and emotional body. It allows the body to complete its natural stress cycle, to return to its natural state. Something that many of have difficulty accessing with the pressures and pace of modern life.
The benefits of conscious connected breathwork range from improved sleep, elevated mood, and lowered stress and anxiety. It can also improve circulation and lung capacity and the transformation of unintegrated emotions that improves our resilience to stress.
As a result of this practice, you may experience a re-calibration or reset of the nervous system, body, and mind. You may experience a range of emotions. The recollection of memories and visions. Or the physical release of tension held in the body. You may also experience simple feelings of bliss and joy, or you may feel nothing at all. All of these experiences are welcome, valid and have their own medicine.
We will then treat you to a deeply immersive and mesmerising sound bath. We will drop into deep relaxation and journey with different sound modalities. These include; a gong, drumming, crystal singing sound bowls and other instruments.
Using vibrations, repetitive rhythms, binaural beats and different frequencies, we will relieve stress, anxiety and tensions in the body. Shift any unwanted energy and encourage good quality sleep.
Join us for this special Conscious Connected Breathwork & Sound Bath journey this February as we take you on a very deep mindful journey, using the power of movement, breath and sound.
Feel free to bring a cushion and anything else to make you feel comfortable, eye masks and blankets are provided.
Contra-indications and Precautions
If you are taking any medications or have any medical conditions such as, but not limited to Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or psychosis, epilepsy, heart conditions, COPD, delicate pregnancy, high/very low blood pressure with a fainting history, PTSD, or recent major surgery that you must advise the facilitator/s before the event.
*Not suitable for first trimester / delicate pregnancy, those fitted with a pacemaker or have a cochlear implant. Please do not arrive on a full stomach or under the influence of alcohol.
